Counselling

COUNSELLING is a confidential one-on-one process that is designed to help people deal more effectively with issues that cause difficulties and distress in their lives. It assists clients to view their situation, issues or areas of concern from a broader perspective and enables them to make life enhancing choices and decisions.

The length of a counselling session is normally one hour, but can be longer or shorter, depending on the counselling agreement. The duration of the counselling relationship is usually determined by the complexity of the issue/s the client wishes to resolve. Number and frequency of counselling sessions are based on the client’s needs and are mutually agreed.

PSYCHOTHERAPY literally means, “healing of the soul”. Psychotherapy is a confidential one-on-one process aimed at “healing” the deep wounding of a person’s innermost being. It often requires a longer-term commitment, the willingness to explore the root causes of areas of internal conflicts and a real desire for change.
