Every so often throughout your work day, remember to STOP and BREATHE. Take a five minute break from whatever task you are currently working on. Whether you are sweating over a ‘hot’ computer or are knee-deep in any type of work project, get up right now, walk to the window, take a few deep breaths and give yourself permission to let your mind wander to a lovely and relaxing place. 5 minutes of disengaging your brain from the task at hand can make the difference between spending the remainder of the day stressed, overwhelmed and exhausted or in a pleasant and relaxed frame of mind. Taking the occasional 5 minute breather not only means that you are taking care of your health but also ensures that you retain the focus necessary to finish your task in record time.  

So, how about committing to a 5 minute STOP three times throughout your work day? No matter how busy you are, EVEN YOU CAN AFFORD 15 minutes of rest. Just remember, it’s an investment that benefits your health, your job performance and satisfaction and ensures that YOU remain in charge of YOUR LIFE.
